Surprisingly, Kraven admitted that Shocker was tough at first, as he “was fighting to survive,” rather than to win.

As Peter and Miles attempt to stop Venom, Peter is debilitated by a trace amount of the symbiote still within him. After Miles settles his differences with Li, the latter uses his powers to convert Peter’s symbiote traces into the Anti-Venom symbiote, which can destroy other symbiotes. Concurrently, Venom recovers the meteorite that originally brought him to Earth and empowers himself with it, accelerating his infestation on New York. Peter and Miles distract Venom while Mary Jane steals the meteorite and destroys it with the EMF’s particle accelerator, destroying Venom’s symbiote horde. At Harry’s insistence, Peter destroys the symbiote and frees Harry from its control, but renders Harry comatose.
Thanks in no small part to the fact that you get to play as him for a stretch. Peter got jealous of Miles’ venom powers – sharing the name of the villain despite having no connection and never being mentioned – so he stole Doc Ock’s arms and made them his own. New factions and units, such as flamethrower-wielding cultists that keep you at a distance, flying drones, and hunters who deploy laser grids above your head to limit aerial attacks keep you on your sticky toes. Certain enemies are weak to different types of abilities, such as electric or symbiote attacks, which also adds an enjoyable extra wrinkle to fights. It’s by no means revolutionary stuff, but a welcome added level of complexity that makes you consider which powers – or even which Spider-Man – are best for a given job. But you can play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, switching between the heroic Spider-Men on your crime-fighting adventures to experience their individual gameplay abilities and story elements.
The bite causes Miles to gain super powers, matching Spider-Man’s but with the additional abilities to generate bioelectric attack and go invisible. After Miles shares his developing powers to Peter, Peter reveals he is Spider-Man, with powers of his own. Peter agrees to mentor Miles into following in his footsteps as his own Spider-Man.
